Do want to sum up Carol Jantsch in one story? Earlier this year she became the first tuba soloist to ever perform on the subscription series of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She performed her solo four times in a week and every time was asked by the audience to play an encore. So she proceeded to play a different solo as an encore all four nights!

I was backstage after the final performance and one of the violins in the orchestra came up to her and told her that her playing that week had made him reevaluate his entire approach to his own instrument.

She is a generational talent and was a wonderful interview.
